Fire protection engineering

Design and review of fire protection systems matched to how your building is used: sprinklers, fire alarm, suppression, and the life-safety elements of the architectural layout.

What the service covers

  • Fire sprinkler system design
  • Fire suppression system design and review (hose systems, pumps and water tanks)
  • Fire alarm system design
  • Architectural life safety (exits, escape routes, emergency lighting and signage)
  • Fire safety audits and site inspections
  • Bills of quantities for fire protection works
  • Fire protection for existing and heritage buildings

About the service

Fire protection is not a layer added at the end of design. It starts with how spaces and escape routes are laid out and extends to suppression, detection and water supply. We treat it as part of the whole building design and coordinate it with the architectural and MEP drawings from the early stages.

We select suitable systems for each project based on building type, occupancy, size and risk, then prepare drawings, calculations and technical documents in line with the codes and requirements applied by the competent authorities. Bills of quantities help you estimate cost and compare contractor bids like for like.

How we work

  1. Understand your project

A short conversation on WhatsApp or by phone to understand the project type, its use, its current stage and the documents you already have.

  2. Define scope and requirements

We review the available drawings and information, identify the services needed and the reviewing authorities involved, and set out the expected deliverables before work starts.

  3. Design and coordinate

We prepare the design, drawings and technical documents and coordinate them across architecture, structure, MEP and fire protection.

  4. Deliver and follow up

We hand over clear deliverables and follow up on authority review comments or site queries until they are closed.

Frequently asked questions

Which systems does fire protection design cover?

It varies by building, but it usually covers suppression systems such as sprinklers and hose systems, detection and alarm, and life-safety elements such as exits, emergency lighting and signage. We define the systems your project needs after reviewing its drawings and use.

Can fire protection be upgraded in an existing building?

Yes. We start with a site visit and an audit of the current condition, then propose solutions that respect the building’s structural and architectural constraints, and prepare the drawings for the changes.

Do you prepare bills of quantities for fire protection works?

Yes. We prepare detailed BOQs based on the drawings, so you can tender the works and compare contractor offers on the same basis.
